Residents, Families and Friends,

I am excited to see Red Sox Spring Training being discussed on the news, it means warm weather is on the way. I hope everyone is preparing well for the weather. We are planning some wonderful presentations around the area at the local council on agings in Quincy, Braintree, and Weymouth. Feel free to stop in and ask for details. Also we will be hosting a local author who has ties to John Adams for a book signing March 15, 2012. Thomas Cirignano has published two books, a memoir about his life and growing up in South Boston during the Whitey Bulger era, and a new fictional book. Please feel free to come and meet this wonderful author from the South Shore.

I also wanted to relay some exciting news I have heard about Quincy Medical Center. This facility was recently aquired by Steward Health Care. This transistion is great for the local area, and I belive Steward has made a tremendous commitment to improve the already excellent care at Quincy Medical Center. The new CEO, Daniel Knell has set in motion some wide ranging changes that will improve not only the look of the facility but also the care pathways to enhance patient safety and improve outcomes. Since we utilize their services for labratory work we are working with them to enhance patient transistions between the Hospital and John Adams to reduce errors and improve outcomes. It is nice to see the improvements and I think it is worth a visit, especially if you don't need to visit!
